Tricia is a mom of 2, Ryan, 18, and Cory, 15. She has been married to her husband Kent for 25 years. Tricia spends the majority of her time traveling all over the country to sporting events with her son who plays baseball and soccer. She has two dogs, Tod and Juliet, and a three-legged cat respectively named Tripod.
Tricia decided to become a PTA after working at St. Joe Hospital as an intern while pursuing her degree in exercise science from Wichita State University. She said that while working in the Health Enhancement Center at St. Joe, she encountered PT’s and their patients who came into the gym to use the equipment. It was through these interactions that her interest was originally peaked.
As for life now as a PTA, she enjoys getting to know her patients the most. “I’m not sure, but I think some of the best patients live in Haysville, KS,” Tricia claims. “It seems like we build so many good relationships with the patients we have. On occasion, and every holiday, they never fail to bring us cookies, cakes shaped like pumpkins, candy, and once in awhile, chips and queso. Our patients are smart enough to know that it is all about the food here!”
Congratulations to Tricia Gleason on earning October’s Therapist of the Month! Keep up the great work.
